Settings
The Settings panel holds the settings that apply to the whole plugin, and not to one emitter. It also opens the Theme Editor and the Shortcuts panel, and it checks for a new version of the plugin.
What it makes possible:
- Replays that follow each other almost without a pause. AutoEmit Delay
0.2. - A larger interface on a high-resolution monitor. UI Scale %
150. - A hard ceiling on particles while you work. Particle Cap
300. - A quiet Output window. Console Output off.

AutoEmit Delay
Section titled “AutoEmit Delay”AutoEmit Delay is the pause between two plays of Auto-emit, in seconds. The pause is counted after the whole effect has finished: every Delay, every Duration and every Lifetime. It is not counted from the start of the play.
With AutoEmit Delay at 1, an effect that takes 2 seconds to finish plays again every 3 seconds.
An entry below 0.01, or one that is not a number, is ignored. Exercise 3 uses Auto-emit for the first time.
UI Scale %
Section titled “UI Scale %”UI Scale % makes every panel, button and label of the plugin larger or smaller together. 100 is the normal size. An entry outside 25 to 300 is ignored.
To change the size of the text alone, use the size slider of the Theme Editor.
Particle Cap
Section titled “Particle Cap”When the number of particles alive reaches the Particle Cap, new emits are skipped until some particles end. Output reports it.
A number with a fraction is rounded down. An entry outside 50 to 50000 is refused, and the box shows the current value again.
The Particle Cap gives the message in Output and what counts toward the cap.
Snap Panels In View
Section titled “Snap Panels In View”| Switch | A panel dragged or resized past the edge of the viewport |
|---|---|
| On | Is moved back inside the viewport when you let go. |
| Off | Stays where you drop it, even off the screen. |
Console Output
Section titled “Console Output”With Console Output off, the plugin’s messages and warnings no longer show in Output. The messages and warnings of the Part_Icles module are silenced too, while you are in Studio. Errors still show.
The lines that Scan All prints for each emitter still show with Console Output off.
Auto-Update and Check for Updates
Section titled “Auto-Update and Check for Updates”With Auto-Update on, the plugin checks for a new version each time it starts. The check is silent unless a new version was downloaded. With Auto-Update off, the plugin does not check by itself.
Check for Updates checks at once. The button reads Checking… while the check runs. The answer comes as a bar across the top of the screen, with a Dismiss button.
| The bar reads | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Plugin is up to date | There is no newer version. |
| Update check failed: network error | The check failed. |
| Update check failed: bad response | The check failed. |
| Update check timed out | The check took too long. |
| Update vN available but download failed | There is a newer version, and its download failed. |
| Part-Icles vN downloaded! Right-click ‘Part_IclesV2’ in ServerStorage > Save as Local Plugin > Restart Studio | The new version is in your place, ready to be saved. This bar stays until Dismiss is pressed. |
When a new version has been downloaded, it appears in ServerStorage as Part_IclesV2 and is selected. Finish the update by hand:
| Step | Control | Action | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Explorer ▸ ServerStorage ▸ Part_IclesV2 | Right-click, then choose Save as Local Plugin | Studio saves the new version as a plugin. |
| 2 | Studio | Close and open again | The new version of the plugin is running. |
Install and update describes installing and updating in full.
Limits
Section titled “Limits”- The Settings panel cannot be resized by its edges, and it has no minimise button.
- Reset Layout does not move the Settings panel.
- The Particle Cap in Settings applies while you edit. In the running game the module has its own cap.
